Kyle dressed in drag   Albeit one of the most surprising charters that I have ever worked, what fun it was! Our dark horse Kyle pulled a Drag act out of the bag and performed with our charter guests, despite being knocked out by anti allergy drugs after a supposed reaction to some Uni in the Galley. This was the first drag act that I had ever seen and I'll be honest - I loved it. It was hilarious! Most importantly the guests loved it too! :).   Jengo I think that Ben's British older brother needs a mention here. Aren't they just two adorable peas in a pod! I loved gaining some...

What to expect when day working? Here I give you the ins and outs of Day Working, courtesy of an experienced Deckhand. Starting out in the yachting industry can be tricky, especially if you come in having no idea how the industry works or what is expected. As a Deckhand I found that the way to work your way up to getting a job is through "Day Working". What is "Day Working"? To put it simply, Day Work is experiencing the working life of a Yacht crew member. From morning till dusk you follow the lead of the boats crew, get paid and then leave at the...

A Charter to remember     This charter was a rather special affair! The wonderful white witches, along with Blake, Emerson and Scott were perhaps the most charismatic, interesting and kind guests to have stepped onboard MY Valor. They made this charter far from ever being forgotten. We each got a reading and I can tell you that despite the hiccups shown on the show, the readings were extremely touching, undeniably correct and insightful. Most of us had a tear in our eye at least once...

About Kyle    So, we're all gearing up for the wonders of Kyle to begin to unravel. So far we know that he has a little girl back home who was conceived in Soho Square, which I can't say I'm impressed about! Guys don't get any ideas from this! Saying that, he seems to have progressed on the date front. Kyle's attempts to romance Sierra on their fishing date weren't too bad! We've also learnt that he used to be homeless and earned money as a street performer after moving to London. If this wasn't hard enough, he did it to start a life with a girl who...

It's tricky being Bosun Kelly has a tough time in this episode. He knocks heads with the Captain and crosses paths with his deck team, when he was only trying to protect them. On top of all of this, he gets slightly rejected by me, sorry Kel! :( Overall, I think that Kelley is fitting rather aptly into his Bosun position, regardless of how hard it is. Conflicts with the Captain are bound to happen, and stepping up to Bosun comes with a load of learning, trial and errors and mental strain. Kelley has extra responsibilities and the difficult task of learning how to manage the friend/boss relationship...

On charter Swims..     I love Kate & Captain Lee for allowing us to swim on charter, a lot of chief stews would not! One thing I've learnt in yachting is that you have to weigh out its demanding and hard work with the perks of being in the industry, as much as possible! Swimming mid ocean, using the boats toys and bonding with your crew mates in the water happens to be one of these perks. I really remember this afternoon onboard well, it was so much fun! Kelley, Sierra, Nico and I had races around the yacht with the sea bobs and we jumped off the bridge deck (something that I've never had...

What did we all like, learn and loathe about this weeks episode of Below Deck? Well, it came with scenes of laughter, frustration, anger and endearment as we completed charter one and had our first night out together. I think it’s safe to say that most of us are finding it rather challenging to tolerate Trevor’s behaviour and work ethic at this point in time. It can be extremely difficult on board when you’re not getting on with a crew member, due to the extremely close confinements. Nico’s handling the fact he has a to work, take orders (or not), eat, sleep and socialise with...
